For this Minnetonka kitchen remodel, Excel had the pleasure of working with a delightful family, whose storage and style needs were just not being met by the dated materials that occupied their space. They had several cabinets, but the lacquer was fading and the wood was splitting. They had plenty of windows and natural light to work with, but with only one ceiling light and heavy curtains, the kitchen seemed dark and uninviting. This kitchen remodel was born out of these client’s hunger for modern yet useful elements for gatherings, cooking and storage.

As you can see, this Minnetonka kitchen seems too dark and just a little overcrowded, with two ovens and cabinets scattered here and there. This couple also had laminate floors, mismatched countertops, and their microwave took up precious counter space.

First, in order to address this family’s storage concerns, we constructed all custom-built cabinets to the homeowners specifications. These kitchen cabinets were built to last – being handcrafted from the highest-quality materials – and put a sense of order back into the room.
Next, in order to enhance our Minnetonka kitchen layout, which our clients wanted to keep, we conducted a style update to include a new oak hardwood floor, Cambria countertops and a tile backsplash behind. We also took out an oven and installed brand new appliances, including a microwave, oven and electrical stove top.
Finally, we did some routine, but necessary updates, like fixing the electrical system and installing new energy-efficient Marvin windows to make it a bright and inviting place to have family dinners.
