Today we are continuing our home addition series! When we last left you, we were excavating and pouring concrete. Now our concrete is in place and waterproofed. With that task completed, we began beam installation. Beams are a key element of any home addition project because they are responsible for carrying the load of the house from the roof down to the footings. The number of necessary beams needed in a new home addition is calculated by the project engineer. The beams that we installed will end up being the future basement movie room.
