Kitchen Design Trends

For most families, the kitchen serves as not only the heart of the home, but also the dinner creation station, entertaining central, and the hub of all activity. As such, it is not a stretch to argue that the kitchen design can set the tone for the rest of your house. Make sure your kitchen is in fine form with these popular design trends:
Select Wood Species & Finishes:  Traditional Cherry and Maple wood species are being phased out and replaced with the more distinctive look of Oak, Alder, or Walnut.  In addition, natural finishes are being replaced with those of a darker color.
Backsplashes: Backsplashes, while always popular, are evolving in their design.  While ceramic and stone have traditionally been the medium of choice, many homeowners are investing in the more distinctive look of glass tile.  Available in a wide range of formats and colors, glass tiles can be used to create a variety of designs and aesthetics.
Cabinetry: Cabinet emphasis in 2012 has been focused on form and function, storage and organization.  Consider custom cabinets to best utilize unique spaces and install storage features such as practical roll-out trays and drawer organizers to help keep your kitchen neat.
Hardware: Distinctive hardware is taking center stage in today’s kitchen trends.  Whether you choose brushed nickel, brushed chrome, stainless steel, bronze or polished chrome, upgrading your kitchen’s knobs and pulls can change the look of the whole room.
While making the transition, consider replacing your kitchen sink with a more updated model.  Farmhouse, vessel and basin sinks are popular designs today and are perfectly paired with the sleek and streamlined simplicity of modern faucets.
Cambria Countertops: Get on the countertop bandwagon with Cambria Countertops!  One of our personal favorite brands, Cambria Countertops are durable and stronger than granite.  They are also available in more than 100 designs. Color options range from calm neutrals to bright modern styles, creating enough variety for any aesthetic.
